Bolton’s Fund

Bolton’s Fund exists to support the VCSE sector in Bolton to grow and thrive. Bolton’s Fund grants will fund projects and activities that benefit people and communities across the Borough of Bolton.

We welcome applications from voluntary groups, community groups, charities or other constituted not for profit groups who are based in Bolton or who deliver activities in Bolton and that benefit Bolton residents.

All projects that receive funding will need to demonstrate how their proposed project will address one or more of the Bolton’s Fund priorities. The priorities are guided by Bolton 2030 Vision priorities.

Bolton’s Fund: Household Support Fund 7

Bolton’s Fund, via the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has committed a further £500,000 from the Household Support Fund (HSF) to the Bolton’s Fund grants programme to enable Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations to support vulnerable low-income households in need, with the cost of living.

Large grants (up to £40,000) and Small grants (up to £5,000) are to be used to help vulnerable low-income households with crisis and / or preventative support.

Projects must achieve at least one of the following priorities to receive HSF 7 funding:

  1. Provision of crisis support to low-income households
  2. Provision of preventative support to low-income households.

Bolton’s Fund: Summer HAF 2025

Funding is available for VCSE (voluntary, community and social enterprise) groups to provide free holiday provision, including healthy hot food and enriching activities for children and young people aged 4-16 years old in the Bolton borough during the 2025 summer school holidays (19th July –  31st August 2025).

Priority is for projects that actively target children and young people who are eligible for benefits related free school meals.

The programme is funded by the Department for Education.

Bolton CVS are coordinating the grant making process to VCSE organisations in Bolton.

Bolton’s Fund: Partnership Grants

Bolton’s Fund: Partnership Grants is project funding for at least two voluntary, community or social enterprises to work together to deliver a project that will benefit the people of Bolton.

One organisation must act as the lead partner on the project. this organisation will submit the application – including a Delivery and Budget Plan, as well as submitting end of fund impact monitoring information.

All projects that receive funding will need to demonstrate how their proposed projects will address one or more of the Bolton’s Fund Priorities. Please read the guidelines below before submitting an application. Grants size- up to £35,000:

Bolton’s Fund: Medium Grants is project funding for Medium and Large charities and charitable organisations who are based in Bolton or who deliver activities in Bolton and that benefit local residents.

In order to be eligible for a grant in the Medium Grants fund your organisation must have an income of over £100,000 in the last full financial year.

All projects that receive funding will need to demonstrate how their proposed project will address one or more of the Bolton’s Fund priorities. Please read the guidelines below before submitting an application.

We welcome applications from voluntary groups, community groups, charities or other constituted not for profit groups who are based in Bolton or who deliver activities in Bolton that benefit local residents.

In order to be eligible for a grant in the Small Grants fund your organisation must have an income of over £10,000 but under £1m in the last full financial year.
