Description: We are looking for friendly, honest, reliable and caring people to offer friendship and support to older people who are experiencing feelings of loneliness. Specific responsibilities * Make one visit per week to an older person who is socially isolated and/or housebound. * Emotional support for an older person - checking in to see how they are doing. * Having a regular, friendly and supportive chat with the older person about their interests. We're looking for someone who is... * Friendly and reliable *A good listener *Able to build a good rapport with an older person *Open-minded, avoiding judgement and stereotyping *Willing to attend training and other events *Willing to undergo a DBS check Time requirements We would be looking for people to commit to volunteering long-term, if matched with a client. Times and days are flexible but would usually be between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.
