The Lived Experience Panel is an exciting development in Bolton to include a patient and carer perspective in improving quality of care and redesigning services.
With the support of Aqua Bolton have developed a partnership model, led by NHS Bolton Foundation Trust with partners from Bolton Council and the Community and Voluntary Sector.
We have recruited and trained panel members who volunteer their time to support redesign of services and enhance and improve patient care with a focus on person centred approaches. Volunteers have all received an Introduction to Quality Improvement Training and are allocated a buddy or mentor from within the workforce to support and guide them in their involvement.
The volunteers have a vast range of experience and insight to support improvement of services. Panel members have already had an impact on the neighbourhood design and Intermediate Care Services redesign and are involved in various other service redesigns.
