They are currently recruiting for an experienced Children and Young People’s Counsellor for our Wigan Domestic Abuse Counselling Project. The Counsellor will be conducting initial assessments and providing counselling to Children and Young People aged 5-18 years in their educational setting.

The Wigan Domestic Abuse Counselling Project focuses on delivering a seamless counselling services to children and young people aged 5-18 years old who have witnessed and/or experienced domestic abuse.
We work closely with Greater Manchester Police and Wigan Council to offer 1-2-1 counselling support in all schools and colleges across the Wigan borough. This project aims to support the children and young people with what they may be going through, by giving them a safe and confidential place to speak openly and express their feelings.

This role would suit a candidate with a flexible and adaptable attitude to working within this project.

Key Role Information:

• Minimum 8 hours per week (additional hours may be available)
• £13.45 per hour on an annualised contract (FTE £25,878 based on 37 hours per week)
• Located in Wigan - travel across the borough will be expected
• Contracted until August 2021
• Working patterns to be agreed with the successful candidate
