Fairtrade In Bolton

Fairtrade in Bolton is a volunteering group which exists to promote the justice and goodness of fair trade We meet bi-monthly to plan events and activities. Meetings are on various weekdays at 7.45 pm to 9.30 pm. All are welcome to join us. We are supported by Bolton Council.

Farnworth Baptist Church exists to demonstrate God’s love to the community in practical ways.
We offer small groups where people can get to know one another, Toddlertime for parents and toddlers, a community coffee shop, ESOL classes, a Workclub, a mental health and wellbeing craft group, a Foodbank, an alternative education centre for young people disaffected with mainstream education, adult education, benefits and welfare advice with a specialism in disability, befriending and debt.

Fortalice Ltd

Fortalice was established in 1977 and provides front line services including a 22 bed Refuge for women children and young people who have or who are suffering the effects of Domestic Abuse and Violence.
A diverse range of services including training for professionals, are on offer at the Outreach Support Centre and in the community. The Outreach Support Centre offers support and advice to over 1,000 women and young people each year. Women, families, children and young people are supported through various activities either on a one-to-one basis or in group sessions to address the abuse they have lived with. We work to promote and ensure a future free from abuse. Educating young people is a key part of our service.

We're a group who want to create opportunities to widen community involvement, our aim is to manage an economically independent community building, recognised by all as a positive community asset.
We create opportunities for individuals to develop, share skills and widen community involvement through volunteering. Based at our Calvert Road Centre and Eco Haven Allotment we deliver a range of bespoke activities to meet the diverse needs of the community and explore opportunities to create sustainable employment within and outside of the centre.
We create opportunities for the young, unemployed, older people and those with both visible and hidden disabilities throughout Gt Lever and the wider Bolton area. We do this by developing projects like our
• Eco Haven Allotment
• Job Club and Digital Inclusion (Tuesday and Thursday morning drop-in 9am - 1pm or by appointment after 1pm)
• Women's Group (Wednesday morning)
• Memory Café
• Arts and Crafts Group

All projects aimed at engaging the community and supporting them to access activities.

Great Lever Park Veterans Bowling Club

We are a club mainly for the over 60’s based in the Great Lever area of Bolton but we do have younger members too. We have three crown green bowling teams, two play in the Bolton Parks Veterans Amateur Bowling Association in the afternoons on Tuesdays and Thursdays and the third team which bowls in the evenings in the Turton League on a Monday night between April and September. We bowl socially most days when league matches are not scheduled. We also hold social activities for our members throughout the year.

Group Analysis North (GAN)

Group Analysis North is a registered charity and it offers training in and activities which support group psychotherapy and group analysis. The training is in 4 levels, basic, Foundation, Diploma and Qualifying. GAN also supports local voluntary organisations by offering free places on its course for those organisations which meet the criteria.

Inspire: Serving Your Community (Inspire SYC)

Inspire SYC aims to empower of people living in Bolton to live better and
healthier lifestyles and to help them get quality support where necessary
by providing support groups, activities, and aid. The development of
people, particularly BAME communities and younger people is achieved
by training workshops, sports, arts, mentoring and community
development/cohesion projects.
The wider community is supported through distribution of food and
essential items to the less fortunate and to the elderly alongside
organising community cohesion activities which involve larger group

Inspire SYC further strives to identify and tackle inequalities, represent
and work for people who are living in deprived communities. It enables
