High Hopes for Halliwellbeing

High hopes for Halliwellbeing is working to create new opportunities, develop community cohesion, celebrate life and faith, and improve quality of life. We support a wide variety of weekly activities from parent and toddler groups to walking groups, chair yoga to creative writing, as well as hosting events for all-ages such as community fayres, bingo and quiz nights, and coach trips.

Horwich and Blackrod Over 50s Food Bank

We operate in the Horwich and Blackrod area. We deliver food to over 50s who need support any day between 12noon – 2pm. No time limit to offer but we do a review on a month by month basis to assess if continuous or short term support is needed. We receive referrals from other foodbanks e.g. Farnworth Foodbank. Staffed by volunteers.
We try not to turn anyone down who is in genuine need even if under the age of 50. If anyone contacts us outside the area we may refer them to other groups. To find out more or make a referral please contact us.

Horwich Visiting Service

Horwich Visiting service is a well established and respected local Voluntary Befriending Service which serves the Community of Horwich.
There are many people living in the Horwich area, who may feel lonely or isolated, and who would benefit from a little extra companionship and friendship each week. Horwich visiting service provides a team of carefully chosen and dedicated Volunteer Befriender’s, who go out and visit the mainly older people of Horwich for about 1-2 hours each week in their own homes, to sit and have a chat with them and to provide that much needed “face to face” contact.

Inspire: Serving Your Community (Inspire SYC)

Inspire SYC aims to empower of people living in Bolton to live better and
healthier lifestyles and to help them get quality support where necessary
by providing support groups, activities, and aid. The development of
people, particularly BAME communities and younger people is achieved
by training workshops, sports, arts, mentoring and community
development/cohesion projects.
The wider community is supported through distribution of food and
essential items to the less fortunate and to the elderly alongside
organising community cohesion activities which involve larger group
cohorts.
Inspire SYC further strives to identify and tackle inequalities, represent
and work for people who are living in deprived communities. It enables
said people to participate in their healthcare; make safe and informed
career choices and to give confidence and empowerment through
various mediums such as training, mentoring and the arts.
