Community Engagement

Bolton CVS's Community Engagement Workers are skilled in communicating and developing relationships with a diverse range of groups to share information and provide opportunities for groups to have a voice.  This is achieved through network and engagement events, conducting outreach and visiting groups.

We are also part of The Engagement Alliance, in partnership with Healthwatch Bolton. which is commissioned by Bolton's Clinical Commissioning Group and Bolton Council.  This provides opportunities for groups and individuals  to shape future health and social care plans - recent projects include: Bolton Care Records, Falls Prevention, Physical Activity and How Can Primary Care Services be Delivered in The Best Way for You?

Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)
The Engagement Team did some work recently to explore people’s experiences of using the Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and to find out what they feel is needed from the proposed new service delivery model.
An engagement event was held for the voluntary sector providers at The Bolton Hub and contacted a number of groups.  A short questionnaire was devised by Bolton CVS capturing the views of the participants about the CAMHS services, have a look at the report that has been collated from the contributions.

GP Out Of Hours (GPOOH)
Some engagement sessions have been delivered to gather opinions on the proposed re-location of the GP Out of Hours (GPOOH) service from its current site at Waters Meeting Health Centre to the Bolton Hospital site.  A meeting was held at Bolton Hub where a representative from the Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) presented the proposals. Engagement Workers from Bolton CVS visited a number of community groups to facilitate discussion around the proposed relocation. A report has been collated from the contributions at these sessions.
