Management Committee - Do you know your role?

Trustees are the people in charge of a charity. They help to make the UK the sixth most giving country in the world. They play a vital role, volunteering their time and working together to make important decisions about the charity’s work.

A committee is a group of people who have been elected and appointed to make decisions on behalf of a voluntary and community group. Any voluntary organisation needs a committee of people who will organise how the group is run and ensures that decisions are made in a democratic way, with members taking collective responsibility for the group. Course outline: This short workshop will introduce learners to the roles and responsibilities of a management committee and the individual roles of the chair, secretary and treasurer. The workshop is suitable for anyone new to their management committee role or existing committee members looking to refresh their knowledge.

Trainer: This course will be delivered by Sharon Bolus, Group Development Officer, Bolton CVS.
