Introduction to Volunteer Management

Implementing equality and inclusion runs throughout good volunteer management practice including the 5 stages of a successful Volunteer Programme: - Planning; Recruiting; Supporting, Developing & Evaluating. This course would also be a good preliminary piece of learning if you are wanting to enrol on the Level 3 Volunteer Management course which we will be running later in the year.

This one-day course gives an overview of all the stages of volunteer management and participants will learn to recognise barriers linked to getting into volunteering and find solutions to make their organisation ‘volunteer friendly’.

This course is suitable for anyone who is new to working with volunteers or who wants to improve or gain new ideas for their group’s volunteer management processes.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to: -

• Demonstrate an understanding of volunteer management

• Describe policies, procedures and practices in volunteer management

• Understand and develop the skills and knowledge to effectively manage volunteers

This training is delivered by Cathie Jones Volunteer Services Coordinator at Bolton CVS.
