David S Porter is a practicing solicitor, who has specialised in advising Charities over the last 35 years. He has been a volunteer, committee member, Trustees and Chair of several Charities. He is currently the chair of the Provincial/Walsh Trust for Bolton, a charity that makes awards and grants for charitable purposes. With the experience of his involvement with charities at the coal face over 50 or more years he has advised local national and international charities. He has also advised Trustees, Governors and Directors as to their obligations and liabilities when running charities. He has formed charitable companies limited by guarantee, Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs) and prepared charitable Trust Deeds and Declarations of Trust. He has also advised charities as to their mandatory obligations when selling or leasing property; borrowing monies from funders and making lottery, Sports England and other charitable applications; and advised with regard to investing in the stock market and other companies.
