How to make good ideas a reality!

Have you got a great idea to help people in your community? Maybe you want to bring people together to address an issue in your neighbourhood or provide new activities to people that need them. Setting up a group is a great way to do something positive in your community.

It’s also a way of meeting new people, learning new skills and getting more involved in your community. But – where do you start?

It can be easy to worry about the paperwork and formalities that are involved in setting up a new community group. But by taking a few simple steps at the beginning, you can put the basics in place to make sure your group is set up in a way that works best for all its members and will set you on the path to success!

This informal workshop delivered by John Aitken, Group Development Officer at BCVS will help you explore and understand:

  • Evidencing the need for your project or group
  • What your aims will be and what you want to achieve
  • Who you will work with
  • Potential partners and supporters of your work

Following the workshop, you will also be offered the opportunity to meet for a one to one meeting with one of our Group Development Officers’s at a convenient time and place for you in Bolton.
