Disability Awareness Workshop

This training is for individuals, groups and organisations who want to learn or update their knowledge and understanding about disability issues.


The purpose of this training is to raise awareness about disability issues; Promote inclusion of disabled people within education, employment and service provision.

Topics covered during the training will include:

  • Definitions of Disability
  • Barriers & Discrimination
  • The Social Model of Disability
  • The Equality Act, 2010
  • Duty to Make Reasonable Adjustments

The training will be delivered in a jargon-free open environment, involving case scenarios and discussions with opportunities for personal reflection.


The workshop will be delivered by Soyeb Amirat who is a social worker with research-based knowledge and experience in disability and inclusion.
