Strong Foundations: Safeguarding Children and Young People

This interactive course will enable participants to obtain basic knowledge about safeguarding children and young people and share learning and good practice.
This course is suitable for anyone with responsiblity for ensuring children and young people's safeguarding in their voluntary group or organisation. It is suitable for those new to the role or those wishing to refresh their skills and knowledge.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify┬ádifferent types of abuse
  • Recall procedures within their organisation when they believe a child or young person has been, or is at risk of being abused.
  • Record information and know how to share it properly

This course is delivered by Imtiaz Kala of Bolton Lads & Girls Club who currently is the Safeguarding & Welfare Lead at the club. He has over 20 years experience in the Safeguarding field within schools, the local authority and the voluntary sector. Imtiaz is a qualified teacher, accredited trainer, Designated Safeguard Lead and trained in special educational needs. He brings vast knowledge and experience in assisting organisations in improving their safeguarding standards.

Please note, that places are limited to one per organisation. Priority will be given to groups delivering services in the Bolton area.
