The Purpose of the Training
• To stimulate and support community group members in deprived areas or disadvantaged communities or hard to reach groups in Bolton.
• To promote learning and development opportunities, which in turn contribute to the building of stronger communities in the local area.
• To engage people to become involved in community activity or to enable people to have more say in the development of their community.
• To empower people to become more self-confident, gain new skills, and access new opportunities.

Criteria
1. The training will benefit deprived local neighbourhoods and/or disadvantaged or hard to reach communities in Bolton.
2. The training will increase community empowerment and involvement.
3. The training has the support of the people who will benefit.
4. A minimum of six learners will attend each training session provided.

Group Eligibility
1. Groups must be a voluntary or community group.
2. Groups must have an unpaid management committee responsible for running the group.
3. Groups must be committed to equal opportunities.
