Groups in Farnworth, Harper Green and Kearsley - The next deadline to apply to the Coalfields Regeneration Trust for grants of £500 to £5,000 under our Bridging the Gap Programme for the most deprived former coalfield wards in the North West is FRIDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER 2010 for a decision in mid November 2010.

The grant can be for capital or revenue costs or a mixture of the two but the project has to be completed and all grant funding spent by 31st March 2011.

The Minister for Civil Society tells Stephen Cook of Third Sector Daily about cuts in spending and the Conservative vision of the voluntary sector's future.

When the Labour government published its third sector review in 2007, Gordon Brown contributed a foreword to it, emphasising that the Office of the Third Sector would be putting £500m into charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises between 2008 and 2011.

Tower FM are doing a series of live broadcasts across Bolton from Monday 16 August to Friday 20 August for local community and voluntary groups to share the great work they are doing in Bolton.

They will meet with, and interview on air, as many representatives of community groups as possible, to give them some free airtime to promote what it is they do.

For many years Bolton CVS has acted as a Grants Administrator on behalf of a range of statutory bodies including Bolton Council and NHS Bolton. Between 2000 and 2010 Bolton CVS has successfully administered 2025 grants with a total value of £3.4 million.

Lloyds TSB Foundation for England & Wales is pleased to announce its increased income for 2010 as £25.24m (£20.8m in 2009) and is delighted to confirm that this higher level of funding will be sustained for 2011, 2012 and 2013.

The independently run Foundation is keen to hear from registered charities working across Bolton who can demonstrate how their work is making a difference to the lives of disadvantaged people, and helping them to play a fuller role in the community.
