Healthy Heads

Project aims and Objectives:

  • To encourage people to recognise the positive impact creative activities can have on mental health
  • To support people to learn the 5 ways to wellbeing health message
  • To create an exhibition of artwork created by local people, representing positive action to improve mental health and wellbeing

Noodle Doodle has been a well received creative workshop developed to support the learning of the 5 ways to wellbeing. The workshop, aimed at adults over the age of 18 resulted in a colourful display of art that reflected the mental health and well being of local people. The heads attracted lots of attention during the exhibition that took place during World Mental Health Week and due to popular demand the exhibition was extended.

“It has been a fabulous experience watching my noodle doodle come to life. Each the same but with entirely different characters, just like us really, different experiences create different people.  The journey of life is endless”

“Unsettled at first not being artistically minded but once I got settled in class I seemed to get in the mood.  I have done my best”

“Thoroughly enjoyed the time spent in the work group, meeting new people and trying something new”

As part of World Mental Health Week we exhibited 500 heads created in our Noodle Doodle workshops.  We also invited people to take part in a creative session to relfect their personal image of happiness. Read the Bolton News article in full
