St Paul's Church - Annual Garden Party

Event date:
Saturday, 23 June 2018 - 1:00pm

St Paul’s Church Astley Bridge is once again organising its Annual Garden Party on Saturday 23rd June 2018, 1.00pm - 4.00pm.

This year it is the 170th anniversary of the consecration of the church which took place in June 1848.

The Parochial Church Council and our vicar, Rev Nick McKee are hoping that this year’s Garden Party will be a suitable occasion on which to celebrate the event.

The Mayor and Bishop will be in attendance to help open the proceedings. Local Councillors from Crompton Ward and Astley Bridge Ward will also be present.

There will be all the usual stalls and activities together with BBQ; Beer Tent; Dance Group; Eagley Band; Phoenix Knights of Harmony Barbers Shop Choir; Cakes, Raffle; Tombola; Good as New Clothes; Music; Refreshments, Afternoon Teas; Plant Stall; Hook a Duck; Tuck Shop; Cake Baking Competition, Fair Trade Stall; Bric-a-Brac, Music; Youth Band; Cake Stall; Craft stall; Organ Music.

All the activities are being organised by either church groups, or other local groups active in the community. Any funds raised will be used by those groups to further their activities, or will be donated them, as they see fit.  As it is 170 years ago that the church was consecrated, we are hopeful that some of the stall holders may dress up in Victorian attire!
