Safeguarding adults at risk (train the trainer)

Registration is closed for this event
Safeguarding is everyone’s business, and it is important that organisations work together to protect people who need help and support. Staff and volunteers in voluntary organisations have a key role to play in ensuring that people accessing their services are protected and kept safe from harm

This Train the Trainer course is suitable for staff and volunteers including management committee members and trustees that have responsibility for:

  • adult safeguarding good practice in their group or organisation
  • induction and training of volunteers
  • supporting volunteers and staff as part of their role

Learners will:

  • Understand what safeguarding is and their role in safeguarding adults
  • Recognise an adult potentially in need of safeguarding and take action appropriate to their role
  • Understand the procedures for making a ‘safeguarding alert’
  • Understand dignity and respect when working with individuals
  • Gain knowledge of policy, procedures and legislation that support safeguarding adults processes
  • Undertake a micro-teach exercise in order to deliver key adult safeguarding messages within their own voluntary and community groups and organisations

The course will be delivered by Adrian Nottingham, Quality and Impact Officer at Bolton CVS. This course has been developed in partnership with Bolton Council Safeguarding Adults advisors.
