Children and young people
Introduction
There are over 230 voluntary and community groups working with children and young people in Bolton. BCVS are currently updating their contact database, so this information is subject to change.
The Strategic Lead (VCS Children & Young People) post (from 2007 to 2009) facilitated the engagement of the voluntary and community groups working with children, young people and families, in strategic developments in Bolton, with an emphasis on responding to Every Child Matters, Change for Children, Youth Matters and related agendas.
In 2008, there was an increase in voluntary and community representation at partnerships and strategy groups relating to children and young people's services.
Involvement in the Children's Workforce Development arrangements has led to the creation of a Children's Workforce Development post (during 2009, subject to future funding) and this will increase the learning and development opportunities for the voluntary and community sector. The development of this work has been outlined in past editions of the Jumbo newsletter to keep the sector informed of progress and opportunities.
If you are currently involved in running activities for children and young people hopefully you will find the attached documents interesting and the other pages held under the Children and Young People's section of this website
